Sandy is the founding Artistic Director of Seattle’s Performers. Sandy has had a love of theatre since she was a small child, and has participated in several regional theatre productions. At age14, Sandy started her first theatre company Leap of Faith Theatreworks and provided musical theatre training to students for free during the summers. In 2000 Sandy was recognized for her volunteer service as the Prudential Sprit of Community Award recipient at the White House in Washington D.C. Sandy studied Music and Theatre at the University of the Ozarks and holds a degree in Early Childhood Education from North Idaho College and Child Development Psychology/Music from the University of Idaho. Sandy also studied in England, where she met her husband Marr, who hails from Gambia, West Africa. They have 3 children. Bailey 20, Sierra 17 and MarrSean 10 After years of teaching private voice, piano and vocal music in Seattle Public Schools, Sandy wanted to open a children’s musical theatre program. In 2010 Seattle’s Littlest Performers was established in and there has been no looking back. As the students at Seattle’s Littlest Performers grew, so did the company and Seattle’s Littlest Performers became Seattle’s Performers in 2013. Over the last 13 years SP has produced over 25 productions, and Sandy has been at the helm of them all. She also leads the SP ELITE program where the performers have won excellence in Acting in 2019 and 2020, Best Overall Performance in 2021 and Excellence in dance in 2022. In looking to the future of the program, Sandy’s goal is to keep providing as many opportunities as possible for performers.

Annie is a teaching artist and performer. Annie studied various styles of dance throughout her youth until spinal surgery forced her out of the dance studio. Hoping for a way to continue dancing despite limited movement, Annie discovered the magical world of musical theatre and the rest was history! She began her professional career touring throughout Europe and Asia with The Young Americans, an international outreach program that brings music and dance to students of under-funded schools. Upon returning to the United States, Annie studied at the University of Washington, pioneering the new Musical Theatre Program and received her B.A. in Musical Theatre and a minor in Dance. Since graduation, Annie has taught dance and theatre classes throughout Seattle and the Eastside. She has taught for the UW’s Department of Dance and several local dance studios, as well as choreographed and directed productions for young actors. Annie’s performance credits include The 5th Avenue Theatre’s Mamma Mia!, Kiss Me, Kate, and Man of La Mancha, Village Theatre’s My Fair Lady, Seattle Opera’s The Magic Flute, Tzeitel in Aurora Theatre Company’s Fiddler on the Roof, Charity in UW Musical Theatre’s Sweet Charity, and countless appearances with the UW Dance program. Annie is also a certified member of the Youth Protection Advocates in Dance.

In addition to these roles, Danielle has performed in various scenes programs which include Jenna in Waitress, Beth in Little Women, Alice in Falstaff, and Countess Almaviva in Le Nozze di Figaro.Upon graduating from Interlochen Arts Academy in 2014, Danielle moved to Tacoma, Washington to attend the University of Puget Sound where she earned her Bachelor of Music degree in 2018. Later that fall, Danielle attended the San Francisco Conservatory of Music to pursue a Master of Music degree which she completed in May of 2020.During her graduate degree work, Danielle began to focus on pedagogy and fell in love with teaching. Over the last few years, she has taught students of all ages in classical, musical theater, and contemporary commercial music styles. She has served as a member and adjudicator for NATS, is on voice faculty at the University of Puget Sound in their community music department, and started her own voice studio in 2022. Danielle is entering her second year teaching with SP and has directed various shows, traveled and co-directed in their Elite and Elite Prep programs, and taught in schools and summer camps.

Yusef (He/They) is a queer Detroit native working professionally as an actor and teacher in arts and wellness education. As a brand-new Seattle local he is thrilled to be working with Seattle Performers for this summer and beyond. You might have recently seen him as Sweeney in 5th Avenue Theatre’s latest production of the Sondheim masterpiece Sweeney Todd. He was formerly a Resident Artist at Pacific Conservatory Theatre on the central coast of CA where he taught Voice and movement to second year students. Since then, he has honed a craft for teaching private lessons in Voice, Movement and Acting. He holds an MFA in Acting from Southern Methodist University and a BFA in Musical Theatre from Santa Fe University. While in Detroit, Santa Fe, Dallas, and California he has worked on numerous plays and musicals, some of his favorites include; Will Shakespeare; Shakespeare in Love, Algernon; Importance of being Earnest, Fredrick Douglass; The Agitators, Sebastian; The Little Mermaid, Belize; Angels in America, Orestes; Electra & Iphigenia in Aulis and Tarus, Orgon; Tartuffe, Rosencrantz; Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are…., Audrey II Little Shop of Horrors, and Toby Belch Twelfth Night. He’s worked professionally in West African Dance for the last 20 years and truly enjoys teaching and inspiring. Sydni is a Seattle-based singer and actor, having studied Musical Theater at Cornish College of the Arts. Growing up in the PNW, she found theater at age 12 and never looked back. After-school and community theater programs inspired and helped her grow all throughout school, and it is an honor to be giving that experience back to kids today. She has been teaching for over 3 years, and is very excited to be joining the team at Seattle’s Performers!
